Crew rescued after MV-22 mishap off coast of Okinawa

According to the III Marine Expeditionary Force, a MV-22 Osprey experienced a mishap off Okinawa.

All five crewmembers aboard the aircraft with Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing were rescued.

The crew was airlifted via helicopter to the Naval Hospital at Camp Foster where they are being treated for injuries.

The Osprey was conducting a landing in shallow water off the Okinawa coastline of Camp Schwab.

A formal investigation into the mishap has been launched.
