The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii hosted Wednesday a Vote 2018 Candidate Forum for candidates from the Democratic Party seeking Hawaii’s Congressional District 1 seat.
The forum was moderated by John Hart, communication department chair and professor at Hawaii Pacific University, and took place at The Plaza Club in Honolulu.
Candidates who participated in the forum included former Hawaii attorney general now Lt. Gov. Doug Chin, Rep. Kaniela Ing, Rep. Beth Fukumoto, Sen. Donna Mercado Kim, and Honolulu Council Member Ernie Martin.
The Chamber of Commerce says the forum was organized to allow the public to hear from the candidates directly about their respective positions on a variety of topics, as well as their priorities if elected as the U.S. Representative for Hawaii’s First Congressional District.
