Late season cold front could bring a boost in shower activity later this week.
Moderate to locally breezy trade winds will continue today as a surface high passes north of the islands.
A band of low level moisture embedded within the trade winds will produce an active shower pattern for windward areas from Maui to Kauai today, with showers decreasing from east to west later today and tonight as the band moves slowly westward.
Trade winds will steadily drop Tuesday, then become variable on Wednesday ahead of a front.
The front will bring a period of increased rainfall as it moves down most of the island chain Wednesday night and Thursday.
Cool northerly winds will fill in over portions of the state behind the front.
