The maintenance staff at the Maui Community Correctional Center continue to clean up and repair the damage left behind by last week’s riot.
Vendors are being called in this week to assess the damage in the common areas and in the cells.
A restoration company was brought in during the weekend to inspect the fire damage.
The phones that were destroyed have been replaced and additional toiletry and hygiene items were brought in.
Last Thursday, the 21 inmates who aggressively participated in the riot were transferred to Oahu.
Officials say the mood at the jail has calmed.
As a precaution, MCCC continues to staff an armed perimeter.
