The city wants to hire a weekend worker to help enforce stored property laws.
The Department of Facilities maintenance wants the council to authorize the temporary position, which will run from July 1 through the end of the year.
It would pay about $20,000.
In its request, the city says unforeseen or emergency circumstances justifies the need for the position.
