Cat found shot by arrow in Kona, and it’s not the first time

News

The Hawaii Island Humane Society is asking anyone with information on a cat being shot with an arrow to come forward.

The shelter says it happened on Tuesday at Higashihara Park in Kona.

When officers got there, they found the cat, still alive, with an arrow through it.

“The animal at the time was not doing well, so the animal was brought back and humanely euthanized,” said Roxy O’Neal, Hawaii Island Humane Society. “I know that there is a feral cat problem in our community, but there are better ways to address issues and we offer resources to help combat that issue.”

The shelter says this is the third incident in two years. No one’s been caught.

If you have any information, call the Hawaii Island Humane Society’s Kona office at (808) 329-1175.
