(CNN) — A beluga whale named Maris gave birth on Mother’s Day at the Georgia Aquarium and a camera crew captured the blessed event.
The aquarium released the video on Friday.
The new beluga baby weighed about 127 pounds and started life at just under five feet long.
Aquarium staff and volunteers had been on a 24-hour watch of the beluga tank since March 5 to make sure everything went smoothly. They’ll continue monitoring mother and baby around the clock, just to make sure the unnamed baby is doing well.
