The attorney general’s office has filed charges against the head of an Oahu charter school.
Myron B. Thompson Academy principal Diana Oshiro and elementary division officer Kurumi Kaapana-Aki were initially arrested last week Tuesday but released.
Then on Friday, the state charged Oshiro with tampering with a government record and Kaapana-Aki with theft and tampering.
According to court documents, the incidents took place between 2007 and 2013.
In 2011, the school was among 10 public charter schools that were audited. The audit found $133,000 in overpayments to school staff.
The academy was also the center of an ethics investigation.
