Thousands lined the street from Ala Moana Boulevard and down Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki for the 71st annual Aloha Festivals Floral Parade.
It kicked off at 9 a.m. at the Ewa end of Ala Moana Regional Park and ended at Kapiolani Park.
The parade was a celebration of the islands and featured colorful pau units, floats, marching bands, hula halau, and the Royal Court.
Vehicular access through the Ewa entrance of Ala Moana Regional Park was limited to parade participants until noon.
There is an ongoing closure of the park’s Diamond Head entrance as crews repair a large sinkhole in the road. The closure is expected to remain in effect for another two weeks.
Parade organizers told us the closure did not cause problems for the parade.
