Following his fantastic freshman campaign in 2015, Kapolei High School quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa is starting to get national attention.
Saturday, Tagovailoa was offered a scholarship by the reigning national champion Alabama Crimson Tide.
The 6’0″ 200 lb. sophomore spoke to offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi about his offer, and is planning to speak with head coach Nick Saban Monday.
Tagovailoa threw for 2,784 yards and 22 touchdowns as a freshman in 2015.
Taulia is already following in the elephant-sized footsteps of his brother Tua, a Saint Louis senior quarterback who committed to Alabama back in May.
Earlier this month, the elder Tagovailoa won MVP honors of Nike’s The Opening Finals, as well as MVP of the Elite 11.
Taulia’s first scholarship offer came from the University of Hawai’i, and has also been offered by Utah. His Hurricanes will open the 2016 season Friday against Campbell.
