Ala Wai Blvd. reopens in Waikiki after crews repair broken valve

News

What was first reported as a water main break on Ala Wai Boulevard on Thursday night, was actually a result of a broken valve.

Three apartment buildings along the Ala Wai were affected. A water wagon was made available for customers with no water.

There were multiple lane closures overnight. Two lanes of Ala Wai Boulevard were closed from Seaside Avenue to Lewers Street. Seaside Avenue at Aloha Drive was also closed.

All lanes are reopen.

Board of Water Supply crews finished repairs on the valve Friday morning.
