Aina Haina woman pleads not guilty to nearly two dozen counts of ID theft

A woman accused of the stealing the identity of victims, opening credit cards in their name and then going on a shopping spree has pleaded not guilty.

Kathleen Watanabe, 58, was charged with 23 counts including identity theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and unauthorized possession of personal information.

She was arrested at her home in Aina Haina Thursday morning, May 21.

Watanabe remains in custody, unable to post $500,000 bail.

Her trial is set for August 3.
