Update: Waialua Beach Road is now open after HFD responded with 12 units staffed with 37 personnel to a building fire at a shrimp farm located in the North Shore area.
The first unit arrived at 2:56 a.m. to find six agricultural sheds fully involved with fire and a brush fire.
Fire officials say they were unable to secure a water source in the area. A water shuttle and relay operation was implemented, so firefighting operations could be initiated.
The brush fire was 100% contained at 4:08 a.m. The structure fires were brought under control at 7:40 a.m. and final extinguishment is still to be achieved.
It is unknown if occupants were inside the structures at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
HECO was notified and arrived on scene to secure power to the structures involved.
The fire is currently under investigation and a cause has yet to be determined. Fire damage estimates are not available at this time.
