East Oahu’s first rental-only high-rise to be built in more than a decade is now open.
Dozens were on hand for the grand opening of 7000 Hawaii Kai Drive.
The 269-unit development features two-, three-, and four-bedroom units.
Fifty-four of them are considered affordable, and a lottery was held last year to pick those renters.
“Not everybody is a buyer. Not everyone can afford to buy a home, but they’d like to live in Hawaii Kai and in East Honolulu,” said Christine Camp, president and CEO of Avalon Development.
Amenities include a pool, jacuzzi, fitness center and movie room.
The building is also pet-friendly.
