2 THE WEB: Moanalua graduate Arakawa picked by Angels in 23rd round of MLB draft

Following a stellar senior season at Oklahoma State University, Moanalua graduate Tim Arakawa received the call of a lifetime Wednesday morning: a selection by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the Major League Baseball draft.

Arakawa, who was tabbed with the 705th pick in the 23rd round, hit .289 with 15 extra base hits for the Cowboys in 2015 with 37 runs batted in.

The former Na Menehue spent two seasons at Yavapai College before his two years at Oklahoma State, where he was named All-Big 12 second team in both 2014 and 2015.
