Waipahu student needs your vote in Doodle 4 Google contest

A Waipahu Elementary student is in the running to have her work displayed on Google’s homepage.

In this year’s Doodle 4 Google’s art competition, students to create a doodle to tell the world “What makes me… me.”

Winners from each state were revealed Friday.

Ruth Montecillo was chosen from Hawaii and now has a chance to become one of five national finalists.

“This exclusive, adventurous, and fun Google sign tells how my future would be from the Jungle to the Ocean!!” she writes.

But Monticello needs your vote to win. Click here to vote for her doodle online.

Voting ends Feb. 22.

The winning design will be displayed on Google’s homepage March 21.
