Boat tours around the USS Arizona memorial will resume Friday
On Sunday, park officials announced they were suspending the tours because they discovered the dock used to load visitors onto the boats was sinking.
That’s been fixed.
Crews are still completing work on the USS Arizona Memorial loading dock.
Until that’s finished tour boats won’t be allowed to dock there.
The repairs were completed by the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Divers, Mobile Diving Salvage Unit 1, Port Operations, Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC) and their Project Execution Section Welding Shop.
Visitors will continue to see a 25-minute documentary film, followed by the harbor tour, which is in close proximity to the USS Arizona Memorial.
The National Park Service will provide live or recorded commentary during tours to enhance our visitors’ experience to the greatest extent possible.
As always, tours may be suspended at times due to unsafe weather conditions.
All other amenities at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center remain open and accessible.
Visitors are encouraged to visit two free museums, shoreside exhibits, snack shop, and bookstore.
The partners at the Battleship Missouri Memorial, the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum remain open and ready to welcome visitors.
