HONOLULU (KHON2) — The TSA is stepping up security screenings of pilots and flight attendants.

The random security screenings come in the midst of an audit looking into possible vulnerabilities.

Officials say that nothing specific happened to cause the change, only that,”renewed focus on insider threats.”

Unlike regular flyers, airline crew employees have been able to bypass standard security screenings by presenting their airline and government-issued I.D.’s.
