Swimmer rescued on the Big Island near Mauna Lani

HONOLULU (KHON2) — On the Big Island, a swimmer had to be rescued off Mauna Lani, near the Fairmont Orchid.

They say a male in his 60s got pulled out by a rip current and got trapped by a reef area.

A surfer helped him to shore with the help of Fairmont Orchid hotel staff that work at the beach shack.
