Suspect arrested after stabbing at Lighthouse Outreach Center

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Waipahu.

Police say it happened at Lighthouse Outreach Center on Leokane Street at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

David Kasty, 26, was booked for second-degree attempted murder for allegedly attacking a 33-year-old woman with “a dangerous instrument.”

She was hospitalized in serious, but stable condition.

Police say Kasty and the victim were in a relationship.

According to police, Kasty tried to run, but was captured by a security guard and bystanders.

He has not been charged.
