It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Mauna Kea.
The road to the mountain’s summit is currently closed to the public at the Visitor Information Station at an elevation of 9,200 feet.
Officials cite icy roadways as the cause.
However, the National Weather Service canceled a winter weather advisory for Hawaii Island summits Wednesday morning.
Conditions appear to be drying out and stabilizing as the upper low departs, and additional freezing precipitation is not expected.
