Street Grindz: Kewalo pops up at former Fisherman’s Wharf site

Local News

Food trucks have taken over the spot where Fisherman’s Wharf once stood.

Street Grindz, the company behind the city’s popular Eat the Street events, opened Street Grindz: Kewalo Monday at 1011 Ala Moana Boulevard.

The daily pop-up will offer local food options from a variety of food trucks and mobile food vendors that will rotate throughout the day. Guests will be able to pick up their food grab-n-go style or enjoy their meal seated on the waterfront.

“It just shows that the locals and the community want more of this. We are really supporting local businesses here in Hawaii,” said Street Grindz: Kewalo general manager Natalie Aczon. “We want this to create a gathering place. It is also a community of small businesses that we are going to actually try to be sustainable. We want to work as a community so we can do more for the bigger community.”

“Wherever we went all over America, there were these type of food truck parks and now we have our own, so we are excited. We can’t wait to get this thing open,” said Lanai Tabura of Aloha Plate.

For the next few weeks, Street Grindz: Kewalo will be open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. with free parking. A list of daily vendors can be found on Street Grindz’s Instagram account.Click here for more information.
