Rental applications are now being accepted for Kolopua Apartments, a Workforce Housing development located off Kuhio Highway in Princeville.
The first units are on schedule to be available by this summer.
In accordance Ordinance No. PM-2012-403, relating to Zoning Designation in Princeville, preference will be given to applicants in the following order:
- Employees of businesses within Princeville Phase 1 or Phase II;
- Employees who work within the Hanalei Tax Zone (Hanalei, Princeville, Kilauea); and
- Employees who work within the Kawaihau Tax Zone (Anahola, Kealia, Kapaa)
Kolopua Apartments consists of 44 affordable rental units, serving households with incomes at 60 percent or below the median income limits established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Rental rates for the one-, two- and three-bedroom units currently range from $780 to $1,335. However, income limits and rent levels are subject to change.
All completed applications received by 4 p.m. on March 27 will be entered into a lottery to determine the order in which the applications are processed.
Kolopua Apartments is being developed by the Vitus Group in partnership with the County of Kauai and EAH Housing.
