Remains found in Wailuku River identified

Local News

Hawaii Island police report Tuesday that they have identified remains found last month in the Wailuku River as those of a woman who was last seen swimming near that area last year.

The remains were found in a tide pool of the Wailuku River on February 14.

Dental comparison determined that the remains were those of 62-year-old Jolee Reiswig of Kailua-Kona.

Reiswig was last seen in Hilo in the early evening hours on September 14, 2015. She had been swimming with a companion in a location known as Boiling Pots.
