Puna shooting suspect held on $310,000 bail

New details are being released in Monday’s shooting in Puna that left one man dead and another in custody. 

Police say, Ryan Davis shot and killed Joshua Santos at a home on Plumeria Street. 

According to court documents, Davis was having dinner with his girlfriend and her son. 

That’s when Santos came into the house looking for someone. 

They took Santos out of the house, trying to get him to leave. 

At one point Santos tried to punch Davis’ girlfriend, but ended up hitting Davis in the face. 

Davis fired his rifle into the air then fired two more shots, hitting Santos.  

The court documents go on to say, that Davis told officers He attacked my wife. She’s pregnant. I had to kill him.

Davis has been charged with murder, a firearms offense and terroristic threatening. 

He remains in custody on $310,000 bail.
