Power restored to all Pacific Palisades customers following downed pole repairs

UPDATE: Hawaiian Electric says power has been restored to all customers affected by the downed pole on Auhuhu Street.

HECO reports that the repair work has completed as of 7:20 p.m. Sunday, but lane closures will still be in effect as other crews continue work onsite.


Hawaiian Electric reports that most of its customers in the Pacific Palisades area have electricity again since a car struck and downed a power pole Sunday morning.

At 9:55 a.m. Sunday, the utility said that 1,455 of the 2,050 customers had electricity restored to them, and that those above or near Palisades Elementary School on Auhuhu Street, Aumakua Street and Komo Mai Drive “will take a while,” according to its Twitter feed.

At 9 a.m. Sunday, HECO said that 2,050 customers in the area were without electricity.

Repair crews are completing underground work.
