Possible BB shooting damages city bus window in Haleiwa

Local News

Honolulu police are investigating another possible BB gun shooting, this time on the North Shore.

A city bus was hit at around 3 p.m. on Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa.

Witnesses inside heard a loud sound and saw the window crack.

“We were sitting on the bus at the Kahuku end, waiting our turn to cross the bridge when all of a sudden we heard a big (imitates sound),” said passenger Elaray Navarro. “It was really scary because if it came through the glass, it would have hit me that’s for sure, because I was right across from it.”

Police have classified the case as criminal property damage. No one was hurt.

Police say no suspects have been identified at this time.

Earlier this month, a school bus was hit with no students on the bus.

Also this month, five students were hit near Roosevelt High School. One arrest was made in connection with that incident.
