Police search for Puna man wanted for questioning in assault case

Hawaii Island police are searching for a Puna man who is wanted for questioning in connection with an assault that took place on Halloween.

At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of an unconscious man in a parking lot on the 100 block of Hema Street. Witnesses reported that the victim had been involved in a fight with another man and that the other man had left the area.

The victim, a 49-year-old Hilo man, was taken to Hilo Medical Center with a head injury and later transferred to The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu, where he remains in critical condition.

Police want to question 31-year-old Kallen Imade, whose last known address was in Mountain View. He is described as 5-foot-6, 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
