A man who was struck by a car on Nimitz Highway has died.
Police say a man in his 60s was hit by a car while crossing near Nuuanu Stream bridge at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
The man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition where he died.
Police say the man was not in a crosswalk.
Authorities say a 47-year-old driver was not injured, and it does not appear that speed, drugs and/or alcohol were factors in the crash.
This is the second fatal pedestrian accident in the same area in two months. At the end of September, a man, also in his 60s, was hit and killed a little further down Nimitz Highway.
