Pearl Harbor survivor, Everett Hyland has died

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Pearl Harbor survivor Everett Hyland has died at the age of 96.

On that fateful day, Hyland was aboard the Battleship USS Pennsylvania, and was severely wounded when a Japanese bomb exploded near his battle station.

Hyland spent the past 23 years volunteering his time at Pear Harbor’s Arizona Memorial Visitors Center.
