Parking meters to be installed in Waikiki

Local News

Help is coming for frustrated Waikiki residents and visitors looking for parking.

In February 2015, viewers reached out to our Action Line department concerned about the parking situation near the Ala Wai where people were getting ticketed for parking there.

That’s because there were no signs and no markings indicating it was a no parking zone.

The city says it will put in parking meters to help clear up the confusion and prevent people from parking there for extended periods of time.

Letters will be sent to all the apartment buildings in the area to inform residents.
