The election may be over but one candidate is challenging the results.

Tommy Waters lost his bid by just 22 votes.

He was defeated by incumbent Trevor Ozawa for the District 4 Honolulu City Council seat.

Waters believes that the votes may have been the result of an error by the vote counting machines.

He is asking the Hawaii Supreme Court to consider a recount of the results.

In 2014, Waters appealed to the Hawaii Supreme Court back in 2014 when he lost to Ozawa by 41 votes.

The court denied his request.
