Animals were also affected by last weekend’s storm. Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii in Waimanalo was hit hard.
Four miniature horses, six goats, and a pig nearly drowned. Ten riding horses were also caught in the flood.
The non-profit organization teaches adaptive riding to children and adults. It had to close for a week to clean up so it can get its operation back into order. But like many, it too says it could use a little help.
“We lost a full week of lessons, which is basically our income. We do have a donation page on our website right now. Just some cash to be able to fix some things and be able to pay some bills as we get through this would be the biggest help to us,” said Dana Venen, Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii.
A tractor, van and truck were also damaged.
