No tsunami threat after earthquake strikes south of Hawaii Island

HONOLULU (KHON2) — According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck south of Hawaii Island on Thursday morning.

The quake happened around 4:35 a.m. 57 miles south-southeast of Pahala, Hawaii.

There is no tsunami threat for the islands.
