New law cracks down on contractors violating stop-work orders

Local News

A new law is cracking down on contractors who violate stop-work orders from the city.

The law comes after complaints that contractors are doing work on homes without a permit and when ordered to stop, they just keep on working despite getting fined.

Under this new law, contractors can now face up to one year in jail because it’s no longer just a civil violation.

It’s a criminal offense.
