Navy Region Hawaii has announced that it is recruiting 86 security guards to work at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) Security Department, operations division.
Recruitment is open through Oct. 14. The positions are at the GS-5 level.
According to the job announcement, security guards “shall be a member of a rotating shift responsible for performing all aspects of security and force protection as they pertain to Navy property, facilities, personnel, material and equipment.”
Applicants must be able to qualify for a secret clearance and will need to pass a physical exam and agility test.
“We’re looking for people who are motivated to protect America’s warfighters and critical assets,” said Andrew Iuvale, combating terrorism program manager for Navy Region Hawaii.
Iuvale says security guard positions are important to the Navy in Hawaii and to JBPHH because “the Navy takes security of installations and assets very seriously. We have a robust security posture that includes a vast array of protective measures and technology components.”
He adds that recruitment is not a reflection of a specific heightened threat, but rather a need to maintain the Navy’s comprehensive security program.Click here for more information.
