The man accused of brutally attacking two Japanese tourists last year, was sentenced on Monday. 

Isea Taumoepeau was sentenced to 18 months in prison and four years probation. He pleaded no contest to two counts of assault. 

In May, of last year, police said Taumoepeau beat a man inside the public restroom at Mother Waldron Park in Kakaako. 

When the victims wife went to check on him, Taumoepeau put her in a choke hold until she passed out.
