The Dept. of Public Safety reports that work furlough program inmate Lloyd Schmitt failed to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center after work Friday night.
Schmitt left Friday morning and was supposed to return by 7:30 p.m. State Sheriffs and Honolulu police were notified.
He was serving time for Theft 2, Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle and Promoting a Dangerous Drug 3. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges.
Schmitt is 38, 5-foot-7, 260 lbs., and has black hair and brown eyes. He is classified as community custody which is the lowest custody level.
