The bon dance season went pint-sized on Saturday, at the Children’s Discovery Center.
Children and families learned to bon dance at the center’s annual Keiki Bon Dance Festival from 10 to noon.
They also learned the art of ikebana, or flower arranging, and got a taste of the taiko drum.
“We have all kinds of events and every one is just a wonderful way of bringing the world to the children of Hawaii helping them understand about themselves and others and that’s very important to us,” said Children’s Discovery Center board of directors chair, Loretta Yajima.
Also, whoever dressed in yukata or happi coats, got a dollar off admission.
