Injured fisherman rescued from Big Island waters

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The U.S. Coast Guard and navy helped medevac an injured fisherman from waters off the Big Island.

A crew member on board the fishing boat “Lady Alice” injured his eye while fishing. A navy helicopter conducted the medevac, while the coast guard provided overhead support.

The injured mariner was taken to Queen’s Medical Center for treatment.
