HPD hiring police radio dispatchers

The Honolulu Police Department is hiring police radio dispatchers (PRD).

Dispatchers are responsible for coordinating and sending police officers to reports of crime, disturbances, emergencies, complaints, and other requests for police assistance.

They’re also responsible for helping callers remain calm while recording vital information for first responders.

The department is looking for individuals who are excellent communicators, thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and have a passion for helping others.

Informational sessions will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9-11 a.m., and on Friday, Nov. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at HPD’s Alapai headquarters.
