Do you think the Honolulu Police Department is doing a good job? Is there an area it needs to improve?

Now’s your chance to voice your opinion.

On Tuesday, the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. will be doing an on-site assessment of HPD.

It wants to know how the department is doing in these four areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

The public is invited to phone in comments by calling (808) 723-3454 on  from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The public may also attend a public comment session that same day at 5:30 p.m. in the Hearings Room, located in the Mission Memorial Building (MMB), 550 South King Street.

Free public parking is available after 4:30 p.m. in the parking garage.

Entrance to the parking garage is on South Beretania Street.

Telephone and in-person comments will be limited to 10 minutes and must address the HPD’s ability to comply with the standards of accreditation.

For more information, please call the Professional Standards Office at (808) 723-3775.
