Honolulu Coffee opens farm-to-cup ‘experience center’

Local News

Honolulu Coffee held a blessing ceremony Thursday for its first-ever “experience center.”

The Honolulu Coffee Experience Center is located at the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Kapiolani Boulevard, at the old Hard Rock Cafe.

Visitors can learn about what it takes to grow Kona coffee, smell the beans roasting, watch award-winning baristas in action, and more.

“What makes this place so special and unique is we created this story for somebody to follow, a bean from the farm to the cup,” said owner Ed Schultz.

The facility features a cafe, bakery, cupping lab, coffee roaster, and gift shop.

Schultz said recent heavy rains on Hawaii Island have not affected coffee farms he works with, so the company still has a good supply.
