One of the world’s biggest hotel chains is offering career opportunities to active members of the military, veterans and military spouses.
Hilton Worldwide says it has hundreds of open positions in Hawaii and other locations.
The company hosted a job fair Thursday at Oahu Veterans Center.
Participants networked with Hilton recruiters to learn about careers in marketing, sales, support services, guest services, management, and food-and-beverage across Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Grand Vacations properties.
Job applicants like Navy retiree Frank McCafferty said they were thankful for the opportunity.
“Sometimes, (we’re) an under-served population,” he said, “people not understanding that we’re civilians. We’ve always been civilians, and we have different disciplines and learnings that allow us to become a real asset to any corporation or company that would hire us.”
Operation: Opportunity is Hilton Worldwide’s major initiative to provide extensive support to United States military veterans and their families, including the hiring of 10,000 veterans at the company by 2018.
