Hazmat crews responded to a report of a suspicious package in Iwilei Tuesday.
The call came in just after 11 a.m. from a business on Sumner Street.
According to the Honolulu Fire Department, the package was opened by an employee, but it was unfamiliar and not meant for the company.
An investigation revealed the package contained parts for a boat trailer, fire officials say.
HFD notified the U.S. Postal Service, which took the package. No one was hurt.
Fire officials say anyone who comes across a suspicious package should call 911 and have authorities investigate the matter.
