Honolulu police are asking for your help in finding a man with more than a dozen convictions.
They say he didn’t show up for his trial on several charges that stemmed from a simple traffic stop, and now he’s one of Hawaii’s Most Wanted.
Honolulu police have a $100,000 warrant for the arrest of Pele Kotani Jr.
They say two weeks ago, he didn’t show up for his trial call for charges that stemmed from his arrest the night after Valentine’s Day 2014, which is when police say he was pulled over in Maili for a traffic violation.
“The driver was asked for his drivers license, registration, insurance, he did not have his drivers license but reached over to the glove compartment to get his paper work, a butt of a handgun was observed under the car seat,” said Crimestoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett.
Police say they arrested Kotani for driving without a license and use of air gun restrictions.
“And while being searched due to the arrest, drugs were found in his pocket, he was then placed under arrest for promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree,” said Buffett.
Police say Kotani has 15 prior convictions and is known to frequent the Waianae area.
He’s described as 30 years old, 5′ 8″ tall and 190 pounds.
