Hanauma Bay to reopen Saturday following overnight closure due to damaged sewage pump

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve was temporarily closed after a power surge damaged the main sewage pump on Thursday, June 11.

The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Parks and Recreation says they worked with a contractor & Hawaiian Electric to address the issues.

The Nature Preserve will reopen on Saturday, June 12, after repairs to the sewage pump and electric system are completed.
