Flags will fly half-staff to honor former state representative

Local News

As a mark of respect for the late former State Representative Jack Lucas Larsen, Gov. David Ige has ordered that the flags shall be flown at half-staff at all state offices and agencies, as well as the Hawaii National Guard, from sunrise to sunset on Saturday.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Jack Larsen attended the University of Hawaii for two years before graduating from Colgate University. He was a member of the Hawaii State House from 1974-1980, serving twice as a Republican and once as a Democrat.

Prior to his terms in office, he served two-and-a-half years in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Larsen died on August 16, 2015, at his home in Del Mesa Carmel, California.
