Local News

First responders rushed to Washington Middle School Monday morning after a report of a gas leak.

The alarm came in at 9:17 a.m.

According to the Department of Education, two classrooms were temporarily relocated as firefighters searched for the source.

But school officials say the odor dissipated quickly, and crews were not able to determine where it came from.

Classes resumed as normal in less than an hour. No health issues were reported.

The rest of the school was not affected.
