Fire crews responded to a building fire near Barbers Point on Sunday.
According to the Honolulu Fire Department, the fire started at one corner of an abandoned building near the intersection of Bunker Hill Street and Yorktown Street.
It happened a little before 2 p.m., and 8 fire companies were dispatched to the scene.
“When we came, we saw smoke was visible, we had no flames visible at the time, so we ventilated the building so we could see exactly what was going on,” said Battalion Chief Paul Miguel.
HFD says the building is federal property and the damage is estimated at $100,000.
